Hundreds of indigent families receive free health insurance during the national PhilHealth Registration Day dubbed “PhilHealth Sabado” last October 2. The registration of new beneficiaries, identified by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development, aims to provide poor families with financial protection for their hospitalization needs. To date, Pangasinan has the highest number of PhilHealth Sponsored Program nationwide under the administration of Gov. Amado T. Espino, Jr. The project is spearheaded by the Department of Health and Philippine Health Insurance Corporation in cooperation with the Provincial Health Office. (PIO)
